Smith llegó al equipo con el complicado papel de suplir la baja de Andrew Goudelock. El escolta aceptó el reto y demostró que podía aportar desde el primer día, convirtiéndose en la referencia del equipo y finalizando su primera temporada MIB con 14.2 puntos de media en Liga Endesa.

American guard Adam Smith will not continue with Surne Bilbao Basket once his contract with the men in black has expired. The player says goodbye after playing 92 games with the MIB jersey, 64 in the Endesa League and 28 in European competition.
Smith came to the team with the complicated role of replacing Andrew Goudelock. The guard accepted the challenge and showed that he could contribute from the first day, becoming the team’s reference and finishing his first MIB season with an average of 14.2 points in the Endesa League.
